Typography
Typography sets the type used in three places: the filter, the post title and the post description. It is the shortest tab in the Classic Panel - three controls, each with the same three fields.
In short
Two sections. Filter Typography styles the text inside the filter. Post Typography styles the title and the description on each result. Every control gives you a font family, a text transform and a size in pixels.
The three fields
Everything on the General tab sits in one collapsible section called Query Options. Work down it in order - each setting narrows what the one below it offers.

The Font Family dropdown lists Google Fonts, so the choice is wide and you do not have to install anything - the font is loaded for you when the filter renders.
Tip
Leaving all three controls on the same font family, and varying only the size, is the quickest way to make the filter look like it belongs to your theme rather than sitting on top of it.

Filter Typography
One control, covering the text inside the filter.
Filter Font
The type used throughout the filter - its labels, its terms and its buttons. There is no separate control for each of those, so the whole filter shares one setting.
It ships as Montserrat, Capitalize, 18px. Filters carry a lot of short pieces of text in a small space, so this is usually the one to keep smallest.
Post Typography
Two controls, one for each piece of text on a result.
Post Title Font
The title on each post in the results. It ships as Montserrat, Capitalize, 22px.
Post Description Font
The description text beneath the title. It ships as Roboto Condensed, Capitalize, 22px.
This one only shows itself if the description is on. Post Excerpt is set to Hide by default, and you turn it on under Meta Info Show/Hide on the Appearance tab.
The two defaults are the same size, which puts the title and the description on equal footing. Dropping the description a few pixels below the title is usually enough to give the results a clear reading order.
Note
Nothing here is live until you save. The button at the top right reads Publish on a filter you have never saved, and Update once it has been published.
Common Questions
I changed Post Description Font and nothing happened.
The description is not showing. Post Excerpt is set to Hide by default - switch it to Show under Meta Info Show/Hide on the Appearance tab, and the font setting takes effect.
Can I set the filter labels and the filter terms to different sizes?
No. Filter Font covers the whole filter as one, so labels, terms and buttons share a family, a transform and a size.
Why is my text capitalised when I did not write it that way?
Text Transform is set to Capitalize on all three controls by default. Change it if you want the text exactly as it is written.
Do these settings affect the rest of my site?
No. They apply to the filter and its results, not to your theme.
Do I need to install the font first?
No. The dropdown lists Google Fonts and the one you choose is loaded when the filter renders. Picking a font your theme already uses keeps the page from loading a second one.
