How to choose a post type

Updated 30 September 2026

The Post Type dropdown lists every registered post type on your site, and you can change it later if you need to.

In short

The dropdown shows every registered post type on your site - including WooCommerce Products if it's active. You can change it later from Global Settings, but you'll need to set up your taxonomies and custom fields again for the new post type.

What shows in the Post Type dropdown

The dropdown lists every registered public post type on your site - your standard Posts, Pages, and any custom post types you've registered.
If WooCommerce is active, Products appears in the list too. If it isn't, Products won't show up at all.

Changing your post type later

You can change a filter's post type anytime from Change post type in Global Settings.

Warning

Changing the post type keeps your layout and styling, but each filter module loses its data source, along with any icons, images or colours set on individual terms. You'll need to select the taxonomies or custom fields again for the new post type.

FAQ

Can I change the post type after creating my filter?

Yes, anytime, from Global Settings (the gear icon in the builder's top bar). Your layout and styling stay. You'll just need to select each filter module's taxonomy or custom field again.

Will Products show up if I don't have WooCommerce?

No - Products only appears in the list if WooCommerce is active.
